Dr. Tabassum Khan, Professor, Dept. of Pharmaceutical Chemistry has been awarded the Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility Fellowship (KA107 USAMV Cluj) at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca, 3-5 Manastur, Cluj-Napoca, 400372, Romania for the year 2023-24. Erasmus+ is the European Union's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. It places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life. It offers mobility and cooperation opportunities in higher education and training.

She will be visiting Professor Marina Spinu and Professor Pall Emoke laboratory, Department of Infectious Diseases for 2 weeks. The objectives of this Mobility are: Acquiring/ exchanging skills to develop student oriented research projects in veterinary products and their market translation and apply to the Indian context that will promote capacity building and entrepreneurship mindset in both the institutes;  Reapplication of strategies that augment teaching-learning outcomes and promote research acumen at the undergraduate level; Promotion of student exchange and faculty exchange short term programs with measurable outcomes like experiential learning and joint projects and courses and Nurture cultural and academic exchange and cross functional inclusivity. The anticipated outcomes of this Mobility Fellowship are: Facilitate academic partnerships and linkages with diverse faculty of USAMV; Gain experiential learning and comprehend the research culture at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels across disciplines at USAMV; Initiate a MOU between the two institutes on collaborative research culminating in joint publications and collaborative research projects for funding to government funding agencies in India and Romania.

Dr. Munira Momin Received Research grant of Rs. 17.62 lacs from "Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission, Government of Maharashtra" for the research project titled "Development of Nanoemulgel for Arthritic Inflammation and Pain Based on Ethnomedicinal Plant of Western India”.

Dr. Tabassum Khan has been awarded the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, Shastri Mobility Programme (SMP) for the year 2017-18. This is a National level award in the teachers category and she is one of the eight awardees in the country.

This award is for a period of 3 weeks to learn advanced pedagogy and work on a short term project in Medicinal Chemistry and novel drug delivery approaches to combat biofilms and cancer at Laurentian University, Canada. It includes round-trip, visa, insurance and living expenses in Canada. This programme is supported by Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India.

Mrs. Padmini Ravikumar presented research paper as a co-author entitled,”” Formulation and evaluation of topical formulation of a local anaesthetic drug for pain management” at 42nd Annual Meeting & Exposition of the Controlled Release Society at Edinburgh, Scotland 26^th July 2015 to 29^th July 2015.

Dr. Pravin Kale was felicitated by University of Mumbai with a Silver medal & Certificate for holding second position in the Medicine and Pharmacy Teacher Category at the University level AVISHKAR RESEARCH CONVENTION.

Same project was selected to participate as an official entry of the University of Mumbai at the Inter University State Level Research Convention Avishkar. The title of project was “Assessment and Comparison of new Augmentation Approach Comprising Caffeine, Duloxetine, and Bupropion in the treatment of depression”.

The project presentation was also selected for final round. It was amongst 6 finalist selected from 20 different University participants.

Dr. Tabassum Khan, Associate Professor, Dept. of Pharm Chem & Quality Assurance presented her research work at “HPLC 2015”, The 42nd International Symposium on High Performance Liquid Phases Separations and Related Techniques held on June 21-25, 2015 at Geneva, Switzerland.

She presented her research work on “Analytical method development and validation studies of Ticagrelor tablets by RP-HPLC” and “RP-HPLC method for simultaneous determination of Sitagliptin and Metformin in fixed dose combination tablets”.

Mr. Pravin Kale presented his research work at the conference “Cell Symposium: Translational Neuroscience 2014,” held on 13-14^th November, at Arlington, VA, USA.

He presented his research work on “Effect of duloxetine or bupropion combination with caffeine on anhedonia.

He received a travel grant award of INR 1,25,894/- from funding agency SERB and DST, Government of India.

He also received financial support of INR 18,880/-  from Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) for attending the conference. 

Dr. Lokesh Kumar Bhatt presented his research work at the conference “12^th World Congress on Insulin Resistance, Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease” held on 20-22^nd Nov 2014 at Los Angeles, California, USA.

He presented his research work on “Inhibition of MMP-2 and MMP-9: A novel approach to prevent cardiovascular dysfunctions in type 2 diabetes.”

He was awarded US $ 240 from Metabolic Endocrine Education Foundation (MEFF), California, USA.

He received a travel grant award of INR 1,04,000/- from DST, Government of India.
