    Dr. Radhika Raheja honored with the “Best Poster” Award at NPFT-2026) held at NIPER, Ahmedabad

    We are delighted to share that Dr. Radhika Raheja, Associate Professor at SVKM's BNCP has been honored with the “Best Poster” Award for the research work titled “Formulation and Evaluation of Topical Dosage Form of Bioactive Extract of a Costus Species for Activity Against Inflammatory Skin Disease.”
    The research was presented at the International Conference on Natural Products for Future Therapeutics (NPFT-2026) held at NIPER, Ahmedabad, from February 4–6, 2026.

    TY B. Pharm. student Ms. Sampada Desai secured 1st Place in the Maharashtra State Finals of the IndiaSkills Competition 2026

    We are delighed to shate that Third-year B. Pharm. student of SVKM;s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy (Autonomous),  Ms.  Sampada Desai has secured  1st Place in the Maharashtra State Finals of the IndiaSkills Competition 2026. Her inspiring journey began at the cluster-level competition in Nashik on 2nd January 2026, where she qualified to represent Maharashtra at the state finals. IndiaSkills, organised under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and implemented by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), is India’s premier national skills competition, celebrating excellence and industry-ready talent. Ms. Sampada received this prestigious award in the presence of Shri Mangal Prasad Lodha, Hon’ble Minister of Skill Development, Employment & Entrepreneurship, Government of Maharashtra, and was felicitated by an esteemed government panel — making the moment even more special.

    PhD student Ms. Khushali Nathani won 1st Prize at State Level in 18th Aavishkar 2025-26

    Ms. Khushali Nathani won First prize and gold medal, under the mentorship of Professor Sujata Sawarkar for her research project titled "Dual Therapeutic Drug Delivery for Muscle Repair: An Advanced Dual-Platform Scaffold System" at State Level in 18th Aavishkar Maharashtra Interstate Research Convention 2025-26 organized at Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krushi Vidyapith, Parbhani on 31st January 2026.

    The project primarily focused on skeletal muscle repair and regeneration caused due traumatic injuries experienced during bomb blasts, accidents, burns, lacerations etc. The study demonstrated using dual therapeutic drugs in combination along with dual scaffold system of Injectable hydrogels and Nanofibers intended for muscle regeneration. The preclinical outcome of the study was successful muscle regeneration. This study highlighted the societal impact and translational significance showing promising outcome.

    On the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day 2025, SVKM's IPR Cell proudly hosted an inspiring event dedicated to academic innovation, creativity, and the transformative power of intellectual property.

     

    The celebration was graced by esteemed thought leaders — Shri Asoke Basak, Dr. Ramesh Bhat, Shri Nayan Patel, and Dr. Jayant Gandhi — who shared valuable insights on how IP serves as a vital bridge between academia and industry.

     

    A special moment of pride for us at SVKM’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy, as our Principal Prof. Munira Momin and faculty members Prof. Sujata Sawarkar, Prof. Dr.Tabassum Khan, and Prof. Lokesh Kumar Bhatt were honored as SVKM IP Stars for their exceptional contributions to research, innovation, and intellectual property creation.

    We are proud to share that students from BNCP were among the awardees at the Dr. P. D. Patil National Level Award for Best Thesis in Pharmaceutical Sciences 2024, held on 4th April 2025 at DYP DPU School of Pharmacy and Research, Pune.
     Dr. Sankalp Gharat, under the guidance of Dr. Munira Momin, received an Appreciation Award in the PhD category.
    Ms. Kaustubhi Sakpal, guided by Dr. Vasanti Suvarna, was awarded Second Rank in the M.Pharm category.
    Mr. Mayur Chandwani, guided by Prof. Munira Momin, was awarded Second Rank in the M.Pharm category.

    Dr. Sujata Sawarkar delivered a talk at the CRS Sigapore 2025 as an invited speaker

    Dr. Sujata P. Sawarkar Professor Department of Pharmaceutics SVKM's Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy delivered talk entitled Synergizing Nanofiber Scaffolds with Hydrogel for advanced Volumetric Muscle Loss Healing on 21st February 2025 at CRS Singapore 2025. Professor Sujata was invited as Speaker at CRS Singapore 2025 CRS Singapore Asia Satellite Meeting being held on 19th -21st February 2025. The conference was a collaborative event of seven Local Chapters  of Controlled Release Society, under the aegis of Controlled Release Society International at the premises of the National University of Singapore (NUS). The presentation was attended by  leading international researchers, academicians , industry professionals and students. The presentation was interactive and received overwhelming response from the attendees.

    SVKM’s Dr. BNCP, Dr. Tabassum Khan awarded Erasmus+ staff mobility

    SVKM’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy proudly announces that Dr. Tabassum Khan, Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, has been awarded the prestigious Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Program 2025. She is the first faculty member from any pharmacy college affiliated with the University of Mumbai to receive this honor. As part of the program, she visited the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV), Cluj-Napoca, Romania, from May 7–13, 2025, under Project ICMKA 171-22. Hosted by Prof. Emoke Pall, Dr. Khan conducted sessions for senior veterinary students on phytochemistry, natural product isolation, nanotechnology, and case studies like MASTHEAL. The students were highly engaged and enthusiastic. The visit also included interactions with faculty and Erasmus+ administrative staff, tours of departments and the university's botanical garden, and cultural insights into Romanian and Hungarian life. The program fostered academic exchange and opened avenues for future collaborations and research partnerships.
