The Placement Cell is one of the most important committee of believing in providing promising career opportunities to aspiring pharmacy students.  The cell acts as a strong link and facilitator between potential recruiters, encompassing pharmaceutical industries, Clinical Research organizations, Medical communications, Insurance, FMCG, Hospitals, Advertising & Marketing Agencies, and students in order to ensure that our students get placements on campus.

The members of the Cell have since its inception, played an important role in providing diverse opportunities to our students to explore and participate in the practical aspects of pharmacy fields through internships as well as long-term research assignments. The Cell is committed to empower students with pre- placement skills that ensures best placements. We offer internships to all our students, across all our programmes that enhances their awareness of the world of work, accelerates personal maturity, self- awareness and ability to articulate skills and achievements thereby creating competitive professionals.

Objectives of the Cell

  1. To enhance the skills of students for Industry ready employer.
  2. To create promising career opportunities for students in reputed corporate.
  3. To place the maximum number of students through campus & off-campus interviews conducted by the top notch companies
  4. Act as an interface among students, alumni and the employment community.
  5. To maintain regular interaction with industry through Seminars- workshops, Guest Lectures and Conferences etc.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Coordinating with Final year B.Pharm and M.Pharm  students for Registration  and  placements.
  2. Updating the placement and Internship details on the college website and social sites.
  3.  Conceptualizing the Placement Brochure and Printing.
  4.  Organizing career counselling seminars and Guest lectures as per the Industry needs
  5. Monitoring the market trends and analyzing the job opportunities.
  6.  Coordinating with the Industries and follow up for job avenues and Internship.
  7.  Arranging of Mock  Personal Interviews and   Technical Interviews.    
  8. Acquiring feedback from Employers

 

Expected Outcome

  1. To conduct career counselling seminars and provide necessary training to fill in the gaps which will eventually improve the standard of placements.

Mock Interview" session on 22nd March, 2025.

SVKM's Dr. BNCP Training & Placement Cell organized "Mock Interviewsession on 22nd March, 2025. The session was conducted by Dr. Suhas Yewale, Associate Director - Techno Commercial, Sotax India Pvt. Ltd.
Dr. Yewale provided expert guidance to students on how to excel in interviews for positions in the QA/QC and Analytical Departments.
During the session, Dr. Yewale assessed each student individually, offering constructive feedback tailored to their performance. His insights helped students understand key areas of improvement, providing them with invaluable knowledge on how to approach real interviews more effectively.
Dr. Yewale's expertise and hands-on feedback have undoubtedly equipped students with the confidence and skills necessary to succeed in their professional journeys. This session was an excellent opportunity for students to gain practical experience and receive advice from an industry expert.

seminar on “Higher Education & Immunology: The Promise for Future Therapeutics" on February 12, 2025.

 The Training & Placement cell at SVKM’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy organized a seminar on “Higher Education & Immunology: The Promise for Future Therapeutics" on February 12, 2025. 

The session was conducted by Dr. Stephen Kerr, Professor and Associate Provost of Academic and International Affairs, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS University), and Mr. Aakash Bablani, Senior Associate Director of Recruitment - South Asia, Admission Office (MCPHS University).

Dr. Stephen talked about  immunology, history of immunology, outline for humoral and cellmediated (cellular) branches of immune system, hybridoma technology, transgenic mice for human Monoclonal antibodies, types of monoclonal antibodies.He also explained outline for humoral and cellmediated (cellular) branches of the immune system, and hybridoma technology.His explanation on central dogma of life, DNA gene to RNA transcription and RNA to Protein translation provided a fundamental understanding of biological processes.

Further, he also explained about tissue engineering and stem cell technology.

Dr. Stephen also highlighted the higher education opportunities at MCPHS University.

Mr. Aakash Bablani explained process of admission,visa application at MCPHS University. He also guided students on interview techniques for visa application and job prospects after completing master program from MCPHS University.

Seminar on “Research & Development in Pharmaceutical Industry” on January 22, 2025.

The Training & Placement cell at SVKM’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy organized a seminar on “Research & Development in Pharmaceutical Industry” on January 22, 2025. The session was conducted by Ms. Sonam Singh, Assistant Lab Manager, Shin-Etsu Chemical Tylose India Pvt. Ltd. The resource person, Ms. Sonam shared valuable insights into the field of Research & Development (R&D).

She explained the concept of R&D, along with its various types. She emphasized the crucial role of R&D in driving innovation within the pharmaceutical industry.

Additionally, Ms. Sonam also discussed the wide range of job activities in R&D, F&D encouraging students to explore these fields as they shape the future of medicine and healthcare.

The session was engaging and informative, offering students a deeper understanding of the dynamic and impactful role of R&D in the pharmaceutical sector.

on-campus placement drive for the Final year B. Pharm students in collaboration with Medtronic on 22/05/2025.

The event commenced with a warm by the Principal and Placement Cell team. The recruitment process began with an insightful company presentation conducted by Ms. Archana Nadkarni, Zonal Sales Manager, Structural Heart DD, Medtronic and Ms. Nishtha Jain, HR Generalist, Medtronic. They provided a comprehensive overview of the organization, including its global presence, business verticals, various therapy areas, and internal divisions. Ms. Archana Nadkarni elaborated on the business operations of the company, while Ms. Nishtha Jain discussed the organizational hierarchy, employment policies, and potential career paths at Medtronic. It was a great interactive session with active engagement and thoughtful question and answer segment. Following the presentation, an assessment test was conducted, in which thirteen students participated. Based on the test results, eight students were shortlisted for the next round of interviews.

By participating in the campus placement drive with Medtronic, students gained a deeper understanding of the medical devices industry and learned about various aspects of the company.

Campus placement drive in collaboration with Sandoz Pvt. Ltd.

The Training and Placement Cell of SVKM’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy successfully organized a campus placement drive in collaboration with Sandoz Pvt. Ltd.on  12 May 2025.

This recruitment event was conducted for Second Year M. Pharm students, focusing the Apprenticeship Program - Global Quality Services.

The esteemed interview panel included:

Ms. Sheetal Telrandhe, Group Lead - Quality Operations, Sandoz Pvt. Ltd.

Ms. Chaitali Surve, P&O (HR) Talent Acquisition Business Partner, Sandoz Pvt. Ltd.

The interview panel delivered a comprehensive presentation on Sandoz Pvt. Ltd., covering key aspects such as company profile, organizational structure, work culture, job-role, and potential career roadmap within the organization.

The recruitment process began with a Group Discussion round, where students were divided into groups. Each group was assigned discussion topics related to the pharmaceutical industry and current trends. All participants demonstrated enthusiastic and insightful engagement during the discussions. Subsequently, students were interviewed by the panel, where they were assessed on both technical knowledge and general aptitude.

The event was a fruitful endeavour giving opportunity to the students to engage with a prestigious organization like Sandoz Pvt. Ltd. and Iit will will surely have a significant impact on our students’ careers and professional development.

Session on "Ideal Dispensing and Medication Error" by Mr. Sheetal Chandan on 29th August 2024

SVKM’s Dr. BNCP's Training & Placement Cell recently hosted Mr. Sheetal Chandan, the Senior Pharmacy Officer at KEM Hospital, for a talk on "Ideal Dispensing and Medication Error" on 29th August 2024.

With 31 years of experience at KEM Hospital, Mr. Sheetal shared his extensive knowledge of the critical role pharmacists play in patient care.

During the session, Mr. Sheetal emphasized the key responsibilities of pharmacists, highlighting their role in ensuring medication safety and efficacy. He provided insights into various types of drugs and their concepts which are essential for effective dispensing.

He also mentioned “7 Rights of Medication” which are crucial for preventing medication errors and serving patients better. Mr. Sheetal also shed light on the diverse job opportunities available for pharmacy graduates in hospital settings and the government sector.

Session on "Integrated Marketing Communication” on 27th Sept 2023

The Training & Placement cell of SVKM’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of  Pharmacy welcomed Ms. Rajani Bhatt, as a speaker for the topic “Integrated Marketing Communication” on 27th September on 2023.

Ms. Rajani, is a Communications Specialist at Ashland India Ltd. and has robust experience in Marketing Commination over 15 years.

During the session, she explained Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC), its importance in brand building, different modes of IMC, prominence of logo in brand.

The session was followed by an activity. Different teams of students brainstormed and presented an advertisement on given product illuminating concepts, slogan/tagline, visuals, logo, headline, Body Copy etc. prepared for the product.

It was very engaging activity and students put forward their best creativity ideas during the activity.

Session on “Career in Clinical Research Industry” on 31st August, 2023

The Training & Placement cell of SVKM’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of  Pharmacy organized their first session i.e. “Career in Clinical Research Industry” on 31st August, 2023.

The session was conducted by Ms. Laxmi Dalvi, a Clinical Research Manager at ICON strategic solutions.

Ms. Laxmi covered various topics in Clinical Research, Role of Clinical Research in Pharmaceutical Industry, Importance and Process of Clinical Research, Different job opportunities and related job roles available in this industry.

Expertise in Pharma Marketing and Management on 11th February 2023

The Training and Placement Cell of SVKM’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy organized a session on “Marketing Strategy & Pharmacoeconomics India and US” on 11th February 2023. The session was conducted by Mr. Balaji Iyer, a seasoned professional from Pharmaceutical Industry having more than two decades of experience, visiting faculty at ITM, Chetna Institute of Management; one of the Panel experts at IIM Sambalpur.

The speaker spoke about various aspects of Marketing Strategy, Importance of Marketing Strategy in Pharma Industry, Pharmacoeconomics and its scope in India and US. He also explained marketing applications through real life examples and famous Indian advertisements. It was an interactive session whereby students showed active participation resulting in gaining prolific insights of the Pharmaceutical Industry. The session was attended by 60 students from the B.Pharm program. 

The Learning Outcome:

Students learned fundamentals of marketing, marketing strategy, Pharmacoeconomics scenario in India and the US.

The Training and Placement Cell of SVKM’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy organized a session on “Expertise of Pharma Marketing and Management” on 27th January 2023. The session was conducted by Prof. Suneel Deshpande and Prof. Ulhas Karkhanis from IES’s Management College & Research Centre. 

BNCP Placement Executive Ms. Gauri Chile welcomed the guests. The speakers spoke about various aspects and opportunities in Pharma Sales and Marketing. They also shared insights on several existing and emerging roles in Pharma and Healthcare industry like Sales Representative, Product Manager, Healthcare Advertising, International Marketing, etc. The session was interactive and received overwhelming response from participants. The session was attended by 78 students from both B. Pharm and M. Pharm programs.

Claims and Future Prospects in Claims Post Pharmacy on 10th December 2022

The Placement cell of SVKM’S Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy organized their third event for the academic year 2022-2023 on 10th December, 2022- Claims And Future Prospects in Claims Post Pharmacy.

The session was conducted by Ms. Kajol Chandawalla, who is a Media Planner and OPS Engineer at Onescreen at the moment. Ms. Chandawalla has completed her Bachelor’s in Pharmacy from Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College Of Pharmacy in the year 2017. She has previously worked as a Life Claim Associate at ICICI Prudential. Adding to her achievements, she has performed at Birlasoft Pvt. Ltd. as a supply chain management consultant on oracle apps.

She has also completed her MBA in Marketing and Operations from ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad. Thus, the entire Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy was delighted to welcome this fantastic speaker amongst them.

The event was organised to guide the students of B. Pharm and M. Pharm by providing them with a better elucidation about Claims as a field and further insights about a career, future prospects and opportunities in Claims post pharmacy

Medical Writing: Roadmap To A Successful Career on 22nd October 2022

The Placement cell of SVKM’S Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy organized an event on Medical Writing: Roadmap to a Successful Career on October 22nd 2022 for the academic year 2022-2023 

The session was conducted by Ms. Nabeela Sayed, who is currently heading the Medical Affairs and Medical Writing Division at 24 Frames Digital as a Senior Executive. With almost 8 years of experience working in Pharma, CRO, KPO, Medical Communications, Publications, she has a profound experience in varied fields. Her current professional designations are- Senior Medical Advisor and Medical Writer. She possesses extensive knowledge of clinical research, document management for clinical trials, and organisational skills from her previous position with a CRO and medical research company. Her key areas of specializations include producing medical content for pharma companies', CMEs, webinars, and review articles, planning and managing key affairs of internal and external stakeholders for science communication projects and participation in interdepartmental communication. Her areas of expertise include clinical trial research, projects in oncology and diabetes, pharmacy, and other therapeutic specialties. She has also conducted webinars for providing career guidance to pharmacy students for medical writing.

She has completed her Masters of Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) from Bombay College of Pharmacy and her Advanced PG diploma in Clinical Research and Pharmacovigilance. Thus, the entire Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy was delighted to welcome this astonishing speaker amongst them.

An interactive session on ‘Glimpse Of Pharmaceutical Marketing on 20th August 2022

The Placement cell of SVKM’S Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy organized their first event for the academic year 2022-2023 on 20th August, 2022, An interactive session on ‘Glimpse Of Pharmaceutical Marketing’.

The session was conducted by Mr. Vikrant Desai, who is currently working as Marketing manager in Zydus Healthcare Limited. He joined the company as product manager in 2018 and then on was promoted to the position of marketing manager in the year 2022. He has also previously worked with Hetero Healthcare Limited (Gastro Care Division) as the senior product manager and product executive and with Mylan Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd as a business manager for the women’s care division. His varied areas of work include therapies like- Gynaecology, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Orthopaedics and Mass therapies. His key responsibilities included  brand  management,  market  research  activities,  sales forecasting   &   sales   analysis,   customer   engagement   program,   promotional   campaign implementation   and   monitoring,   patient   management   activities,   channel   management program and new product launch

He has completed  his  D.Pharm  from  SVKM’s college of Diploma in pharmacy and has graduated from our institute  BNCP in 2012 and has further pursued his PGDM HCPM  from IES Management College and Research Centre. During his college days he was the Associate Sports Secretary and Sports Secretary of BNCP for the year 2011 and 2012 respectively. He was also the joint public relation officer of IPA for the year 2011 and Public Relation officer of IPA for the year 2012. Thus, the entire Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy was delighted to welcome its outstanding alumni amongst them.

We had our principal, Dr. Munira Momin to welcome the speaker and speak a few words before the event started. The event was inaugurated by our Placement incharge Dr. Prabha Singh. Placement Guidelines 2023-24

Training & Placement Cell Rules & Regulations

B. Pharm, M. Pharm - Academic Year 2023-2024

 

1. Introduction: Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy (BNCP) facilitates and coordinates the training & placement activities for all students of programs B. Pharm, M. Pharm. through dedicated placement cell. Placement assistance is offered to all final year students of B.Pharm, M. Pharm at Dr. BNCP.

2. Registration: Students applying for jobs through placement cell have to sign “Registration Form” and submit to placement cell failing to which students will not be considered as eligible to participate in placement process.

3. Undertaking: Students signing “Undertaking Form” have to strictly abide by the placement cell rules & regulations. Students violating placement guidelines will be abandoned in further placement process. 

4. Opting Out Of Placements: Students opting out of placement cell have to fill “Opting out Placement Cell Form” after which students will not be eligible for any placement assistance for jobs.

5. Code of Conduct: Students are required to adhere to the strict code of conduct as mentioned below:

i. Students should have decent dress code and professional conduct when they appear for the interview, any placement event/activity scheduled at campus/company’s office through placement cell.

ii. Students need to be punctual for all interviews /activities conducted through placement cell.

iii. No social media coverage of any training and placement events to be put by students on any platform/ channel.

iv. Students are required to have all written communication on mails. Students are required to use their email account for same.

 

6. Pre - Placement Talk (PPT):

i. Pre - Placement Talk (PPT) is an important part of the campus placements conducted by companies. Pre-placement talk serves as a means to clarify details such as job profile, salary offered, place of work, bond details and other terms & conditions etc. with the companies.

ii. It is compulsory for all student to be present for the Pre - Placement Talk of the company. Students can take a final call after attending Pre - Placement Talk if they are interested in the applying for the respective job or not.

iii. Students remaining absent for the Pre-placement talk will not be allowed to attend interview for the same company.

 

7. Placement Process:

i. All students are required to follow interview schedule strictly failing which no student will be offered any assistance for placements.

ii. One Offer Policy: Students will be allowed to take only One Job Offer through Placement cell.

In an event of any grievance/issues regarding the same, it will be taken up by the Placement Cell on a case to case basis.

iii. Rejection of an offer by students is case based. Such students will be put in the secondary list of students for placements and will be allowed to attend further interviews only after all students have been placed.

iv. The mode of interviews will be offline (college campus /company office) or online depending on the respective company policy.

v. Students have to be present for all interview rounds conducted by respective company. Students will not be able to back out at any phase of the interview process.

vi. Acceptance of offer to be done by keeping placement cell in the loop. Students should not negotiate job terms or salaries directly with company. Such issues/concerns should be informed to placement cell on time for effective results.

 

8. Resumes: Students should prepare their resumes only in the prescribed format given by college and submit this to the placement cell on the scheduled date. Students will be allowed to update their resumes as and when required.

 

9. Job Offer Documents: Students who are placed through placement cell are required to submit Job Offer Letter, Appointment letter & Company ID card without fail to the placement cell.

Our students are rigorously trained in developing their professionally inclined spirits and knowledge by experienced faculty and by various industry heads who are invited for special lectures for development of their skills.

As a result we have an excellent placement record with more than 90% campus recruitment in top MNC’s and Indian pharma majors.

 

Placement Process

Overview

Students have to undergo a one month industrial training. Internship programmes are arranged so that students can gain adequate exposure to industry and can come across with real time industrial problems. Internships are done in collaboration with industry and research centers. Students prepare a report on the project and submit the same to the college for evaluation. Students get to work as interns in pharmaceutical companies.
